Power flushing your boiler will stop the noises and make your boiler more energy efficient.
Having your heating system power flushed can be the answer to many common heating and boiler related issues as well as making your whole heating system more efficient to run, ensuring your home is warmer, your water is hotter and your bills are lower.
Boilers will often make rumbling or banging noises, and the most common cause if this issue is a build up of sludge in the heat exchanger waterways. Power flushing is an excellent way to pre-commission clean new heating systems, to remove excess flux, swarf and other debris, and the grease and oil used to prevent rusting of components before use.
Does your heating system need Power Flushing?
- Is your boiler rumbling or banging
- Is your central heating system slow to heat up?
- Do your radiators need bleeding frequently?
- Do your radiators make noises?
- Do you have repeated central heating pump failures?
If you answered YES to one or more of the above questions then your heating system may need to be power flushed.
Why Power Flushing?
It is wise to power flush a heating system immediately before fitting a new boiler to an existing system to prevent possible future problems. Many systems are found to contain corrosion and sludge, even if no flow problems or symptoms have yet shown themselves.
Existing debris is often mobilised by alterations to the system/piping and the increased efficiency of the new boiler, which may then accumulate in the boiler heat exchanger. This is likely to cause noisy operation, reduced efficiency and, in extreme circumstances, failure of the boiler.
The high efficiency and compactness of modern boilers, developed to minimise fuel costs and pollution means that they are more susceptible to problems caused by debris in the system water.
